Check out the chick in the short blue dress! I obviously studied science at the wrong school. Reminds me a bit of the costumes in the original Star Trek series.
In the ’70’s, fusion was going to be the next big star of the future. Along with all the super efficient solar panels. Of course the big fear at the time was “nuclear winter” brought on by air pollution. We were gonna need all that heat to make it through the little ice age.
Funny how all the projects that get press get money (“pop-sci”), yet anything that actually worked was done privately.
