We have seen the future, and it sucks.

Michigan Republicans Approve Right to Work Amid Protests

7th December 2012

Read it.

With six-vote margins in both chambers, the House and Senate approved measures prohibiting private unions from requiring that nonunion employees pay fees. The Senate was debating a similar bill, with Democrats denouncing it as an attack on worker rights and the GOP sponsor insisting it would boost the economy and jobs.

Yeah, nothing says ‘Land of the Free’ like forcing a worker to join a union — or just pay for it — in order to keep his job. ‘You’re being oppressed by not being forced to join our union!’ That makes perfect sense.

RTW is just another handout to freeloaders. They want the good jobs that union representation give them, but don’t want to pay into the kitty to support the organization that made the jobs good to begin with.
    Bunch of socialists…

  2. Tim of Angle Says:

Good jobs? They aren’t the ones bleeding the company into bankruptcy for those ‘good jobs’ that, oh gee, suddenly go away.

The unions are the ones forcing everybody to get the same deal. Bunch of socialists….

  3. Dennis Nagle Says:

They can always get a job at a non-union shop that pays less if the over-arching economic implications of unionism concern them…

  4. Tim of Angle Says:

No,they can’t — not in this economy. But that’s not the point — they shouldn’t have to. If a company tried this, they’d be prosecuted under the anti-trust laws. But the unions have used their political clout to get a sweetheart deal: They’re immune from the anti-trust laws. One law for them, another for you.
