Seattle Elementary School Bans Halloween Costumes: They Could Offend Students From “Other Cultures”
20th October 2012
Not explained: Why anybody ought to give a shit whether ‘students from other cultures’ are offended.
Gee, I wonder which culture would have students in the Seattle elementary schools who would be offended by Halloween costumes. Still, there is no indication that any Islamic supremacist group demanded this ban; the school officials are just playing the dhimmi on their own initiative.
Well, that’s the Left Coast for you. Yet more reason not to allow your child near a government school.

My son’s elemetary school district included the married student housing, where there were a large contingent of exchange graduate students. There were 37 flags posted in the lobby, representing the different countries of origin of the student population.
As the turnover in that housing changed on a regular and frequent basis, the school made it a practice of sending home a flyer every fall explaining what Halloween was and how it was celebrated in the US. It was so popular that when I was picking up my son one day from school in early November I overheard one Asian child asking an American child, “What are you going to dress up as for Thanksgiving?” The response was, “You don’t dress up for Thanksgiving, you eat turkey.”
So much for offending students from other cultures.
