WHY IT MATTERS: Income inequality

5th October 2012

Read it.

Actually, this article doesn’t answer the question. It just assumes that ‘income inequality’ is a Bad Thing, and goes from there.

It answered the more limited question ‘why it matters as a political issue‘ by saying ‘it’s getting worse’. No attempt whatever to explain why the author — and, presumably, the intended audience — thinks that ‘income inequality’ is a Bad Thing, just assume that everyone agrees with you and go from there.

That’s ‘journalism’ today.

I’ve heard every year of my life that the “rich get richer and the poor get poorer” and that “income inequality is becoming worse.” And it’s absolutely true. Just like week Bill Gates took all my stuff. You’re next. Soon there will be only one rich person, probably Soros, and we’ll all be poor.
