THE printer is the size of a bedroom and dispenses metal instead of ink. Researchers at Swinburne University believe this 3D printing machine could help to save Australia’s manufacturing industry.
We’ve heard a lot about how ‘print-on-demand’ technology will revolutionize the book publishing industry, and if they ever get it moving, it certainly will.
How about when we have a ‘manufacture-on-demand’ technology? With print-on-demand, you feed the machine a formatted file and it gives you a book. If we can feed a machine a set of specifications and get a finished object, hoo boy….
