They’re too busy foaming at the mouth because one man who happens to be affiliated with one fast food chain uttered a personal opinion based upon his own deeply-held religious beliefs.
I believe it was Moldbug who once wrote something to the effect that if militant Islam does ever finally take over, at least there won’t be any liberals around anymore. When and if that calamity and tyrannical darkness ever does descend over the West, at least the silver lining will be sweet. We’ll see who is cavalier and dismissive about the imposition of militant Islamic law – including but not limited to the punishment of stoning – then.
Calm yourself, Denny: I said “if.” But it’s illustrative of our so-called “progressives” priorities that they are more interested in telling someone to “dream on,” rather than making a comment on point about this horrific manifestation of militant Islam in Mali. Quite telling, indeed. Go ahead and *shrug* some more for us.
Well, other than invading the place and shooting everyone in a keffiyeh, I don’t see quite what we could do about it besides hand-wringing.
What’s accomplished by pointing out how evil and depraved they are? Those qualities are self-evident.
And as long as you brought up ‘speaking on point’, the only point you made was how happy you would be if the Muslims took over and eliminated all the liberals. Hardly on topic. (BTW, all the liberty-loving conservatives would also be on the elimination list, so you your joy would be very short-lived, indeed.)
the only point you made was how happy you would be if the Muslims took over and eliminated all the liberals.”
Ah, trafficking in easily-disproved falsehoods is a pedestrian way to embarrass oneself, Denny. Here’s what I actually wrote, and a scroll of the mouse wheel confirms:
“When and if that calamity and tyrannical darkness ever does descend over the West, at least the silver lining will be sweet.”*
So much for that.
“What’s accomplished by pointing out how evil and depraved they are?”
That’s sorta the point of an internet discussion board: to, like, discuss. But you didn’t even do that: you posted “*shrug*” That’s the equivalent of “so what?” It is dismissive and belies indifference to the article posted – which I’m sure you are. Too busy foaming and snarling about Chik Fila-A. Which was precisely my point; a point you have gone to great lengths now to confirm, though unwittingly.
“Too busy foaming and snarling about Chik Fila-A.” Ascribing a position without a shred of evidence to support the ascription is an even surer way to embarasss oneself. I have not commented on the Chik fil-A situation except to note that it’s a comedy of the absurd.
If I moaned and wailed over every instance of Muslim malfeasance around the world which Tim posts here, I wouldn’t have time to do anything else. We get the point: Muslims are Evil and want to deprive us of our freedom, our women, and our precious bodily fluids. Belaboring it serves no purpose. When it happens in Dallas or Kansas City, I’ll comment. Until then, no purpose is served.
“at least the silver lining will be sweet” implies that you would be happy with that outcome. But no matter. It’s your alternative reality; tell it any way you want.
Even in your attempted walk-back you continue with snide dismissal of the horrific story in the linked article:
“Muslims are Evil and want to deprive us of our freedom, our women, and our precious bodily fluids”
This pairing of sensible concerns about militant Islam with a character’s line from a movie that was satirizing concern about communism is yet another attempt to belittle that concern, to minimize incidents like the one we read about here.
“If I moaned and wailed over every instance of Muslim malfeasance around the world which Tim posts here, I wouldn’t have time to do anything else…When it happens in Dallas or Kansas City, I’ll comment. Until then, no purpose is served.”
But you DID comment, and it was just as documented: a snide dismissal, confirmed by the Dr. Strangelove reference in a subsequent post, and your continued refusal to address the article, but to address a personality on the internet. Why not the next time Tim posts one of those articles that seems to bore you so, why not just pass over it and not comment at all? We know why; you do comment, and it’s always a version of the same:
What’s that metaphor about holes and continued digging? It’s apt here; but you keep right on shoveling. Fun stuff.
” implies that you would be happy with that outcome.”
False, again. I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume you have either never heard of the idiom “a silver lining,” or are ignoring what said idiom “implies” in order to distort what I said. The latter is the one I’d put my bets on, though you seem to not know a lot about most of the things you post about, so who knows?
Here, again, is precisely what I said, and anyone even passingly familiar with the English language will see I “implied” nothing, but, rather stated something quite forcefully:
” When and if that calamity and tyrannical darkness ever does descend over the West, at least the silver lining will be sweet.”*
“I’m still waiting for the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood to begin the demolition of the pyramids”
More snide dismissal about the threat of militant Islam on the world stage, with the addition of a dishonest reference to a past dust-up you didn’t fare too well in when it came to who got the better side of the debate, to boot. Keep that shovel going; at the rate you’re going, you’ll pop up in China soon.
