To this day women I otherwise admire think she was a great and gracious woman and a figure worthy of emulation. I’ve never understood why.

If she hadn’t married Onassis, she might have achieved sainthood. She was incredibly popular during and immediately after the “Camelot” days. Anyway you look at it, she was an interesting character and certainly came in contact with an amazing variety of powerful people. She knew how to manipulate the press as well as anybody. (e.g., John-John’s famous salute wasn’t spontaneous, but people believed it was for many years.)
Interesting to see the book quotes, but I won’t be importing it to my Kindle.
