I watched the coverage of Irene with awe. It was a Cat.1 hurricane! The media was convinced NYC was going to be annihilated. Amazing. The Atlantic City casinos were back up and running a day after it passed.
The only FEMA activity I saw after Ike was a crew that showed up a few weeks after the storm to haul away downed trees.
