We have seen the future, and it sucks.

UK: NHS delays operations ‘as it waits for patients to die or go private’

29th July 2011

Read it.

Executives believe the delays mean some people will remove themselves from lists “either by dying or by paying for their own treatment” claims the report, by an independent watchdog that advises the NHS.

So naturally we want that sort of government-run health care sysem in the U.S.

  1. Dennis Nagle Says:

We already have de facto “health care rationing” here in the US: The rich live, the poor (and/or uninsured) die.

  2. RealRick Says:

No, no, no! We have Obamacare! All our problems are solved!! Look! There’s another unicorn!

  3. Dennis Nagle Says:

Obamacare does nothing to halt the rising cost of health CARE, vs. the rising cost of health care INSURANCE. Slick little sideways arabesque on that issue, I must say; I don’t know if it was the right or the left, but somebody pulled a switcheroo and nobody seemed to notice. The cost of care keeps climbing, so the cost of insurance will keep climbing until only the rich will be able to afford it. The so-called “Obamacare” option only slows the inevitable.

So we will finish with the Invisible Hand determining who lives and who dies. Simple and–most importantly–mechanically automatic, so everybody can shrug and say, “Thou canst not say I did it; never shake thy gory locks at me.”
