I guess “Consumer Reports” means it reports consumers to the government.

I used to be a fan, since I like the idea of an independent reviewing body, but I long since identified their agenda, which is not mine. They’re more of a left-with “watchdog” group than one dedicated strictly to consumers, and so their pronouncements aren’t really all that useful unless you share their biases.
