I have an older Excalibur Phoenix crossbow, extremely accurate, simple yet powerful design. I often wonder what an equivalent firearm hit would be in terms of crossbow range, <40 yards. Be it fieldpoint or razor broadhead, these crossbows are a lethal subsonic piece of kit. I haven't taken a deer with mine, but a broadhead at 30 yards in my estimation would be as deadly as a .30 caliber rifle round, trading cavitation for a deep slicing wound channel. Excalibur makes quality product.
