As Marxism is Calvinism minus God, so modern “social justice” ideology is Marxism minus Marx.
Calvinism’s two fundamental tenets are:
- mankind’s total depravity, and
- predestination
Only a tiny fraction of mankind is destined to be Saved; you’ll know you’re one of them if you hate the rest of humanity almost as much as you hate yourself. Since this is not a psychologically sustainable creed, even for such world-class haters as the Puritans, in practice Calvinism was endless, frantic displacement activity – the famous “Protestant work ethic.” Drop God, and Puritans become Yankees — dour, hectoring pharisees who call you a whore while they’re fucking you over to make a few bucks.

You just don’t see “…dour, hectoring pharisees..” used very often these days.

He seems to have forgotten that in Calvinism you know you are Saved if you have a comfy life and make a lot of money. After all, God takes care of the Elect both in the next life and in this one. Unexplained is how this construct minus God equals Marxism.

This construct minus God doesn’t equal Marxism, but rather includes Marxism. Proglodytes are engaged in a lifelong quest to root the sinners and heretics from our midst; hence the daily tributions they cause in colleges, in cities, and in Congress.
