No surprises here. For Democrats, government service is a jobs program, even when they’re not openly corrupt (see POLITICAL MACHINE).

Trump is used to running a business, and in running a business you don’t pay any more salary than you have to.

    Just as for Republicans defense contracting is a government jobs program.
    To each his own.

    Except that with defense we eventually get weapons and the people to use them. With Democrats we get waste, fraud, and abuse.

    Each party specializes it its core competency.

    Weapons we don’t need, and people who push pencils–the very thing Republicans rail against. Oh, well…nobody claimed they were consistent.

    Anyway, Trump just needed to keep people available to go fill the coal jobs he’s going to bring back in such great numbers.
