Top 5 ‘Bigoted Receipt’ Stories That Turned Out To Be True

Every few months, we see some variation on this story: “A restaurant server in [fill in the blank] went viral on the Internet this week after posting a receipt on which a customer wrote a [racist/sexist/transphobic/other] message. This is a sad reminder of the prevalence of [racism/sexism/transphobia/other] in America.” And usually, within days or sometimes even hours, the receipt is revealed to be a hoax. Usually… but not always! Sometimes it really does happen.
