Antifas Allow No Mourning When Culture-Enrichers Murder German Kids

26th October 2016

Read it.

Last week a 16-year-old native German was stabbed and killed in Hamburg by one of those “southerners”, who has yet to be apprehended. The news of the murder did not make it into the national media in Germany — after all, it was just one white boy who was killed, and he doesn’t merit the same attention as all those brown people massacred by the Russians and the Assad regime in Aleppo, or all the Palestinians slaughtered by the Zionist Entity, or all the blacks murdered by white police officers in the USA.

If you’re a German, and you try to mourn for a fellow German who was murdered by a “southern-looking” person, you are racist xenophobe, and thereby become a valid target for the “anti-fascists” of the Left. The local Hamburg Antifas felt quite justified in their attempt to suppress any public expression of grief by their fellow citizens for the murdered boy.

Horrible PSA: It’s Okay to Bully Kids If Their Parents Didn’t Vote?

25th October 2016

Read it.

Schoolyard bullying: it’s never okay. Unless, of course, the victim is the offspring of a non-voter. Then the kid probably deserves it—or should at least blame his dad for not caring enough about politics.

That’s the confusing message behind a new get-out-the-vote video produced by Civic Innovation Works, a mysterious organization without much of an online presence. The video recently appeared on my News Feed: here it is.

The best part is the bully shouting, “your dad sounds like a total nihilist,” as if that’s some kind of put down. In reality, any politically-informed human being who isn’t flirting with nihilism as a result of the 2016 campaign should have his head checked.

‘My dad voted Republican, while he was alive.’

Out of Weakness

25th October 2016

Sarah Hoyt lays it out.

When you say someone should have “housing and food, a car, entertainment, health care” you’re not saying that angels will come down from heaven and grant this.  Or if you are, you really should tell us how to summon these angels.  What you’re saying is “we should violate someone’s most basic and fundamental liberties so that someone else can be the equivalent of a trustfund baby with never a worry in the world.”

Whose liberties?  Well, builders and farmers, entertainers and doctors.  And while you might think those people can “give” you’re not thinking of scale.  If “everyone” is entitled to this what you’re saying is that these people have to work so that other people can have everything for free even without doing anything.

Taxpayer Tab for Obama Trip That Included Golf With Tiger Woods: $3.6 Million

25th October 2016

Read it.

Taxpayers shelled out millions of dollars in 2013 when the golf-addicted President Obama took Air Force One to Florida on vacation and played a round of golf with Tiger Woods, according to a new government study.

From Feb. 15-18 in 2013, the president went on a four day trip that included an official speech in Chicago and some leisure time in Palm Beach, Florida.

According to a forthcoming report by the Government Accountability Office that was obtained early by The Daily Caller, the government spent a total of $3.6 million to fly, protect and support the president during this trip to Illinois and Florida.

He’s going to miss it, when it’s gone.

Top University Stole Millions From Taxpayers by Faking Global Warming Research

24th October 2016

Read it.

A global warming research center at the London School of Economics got millions of dollars from UK taxpayers by taking credit for research it didn’t perform, an investigation by The Daily Mail revealed.

The UK government gave $11 million dollars to the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) in exchange for research that the organization reportedly never actually did.

Many papers CCCEP claimed to have published to get government money weren’t about global warming, were written before the organization was even founded, or were written by researchers unaffiliated with CCCEP. The government never checked CCCEP’s supposed publication lists, saying they were “taken on trust,” according to the report.

The Small Thermal Exhaust Port

24th October 2016

Freeberg demonstrates that politics is like Star Wars, eventually.

The liberal movement consists, in large part, of a sustained monologue taking place FROM the scheming elites TO the ignorant commons, with zero feedback, very much like the power structure among the aristocracy and the peasants in feudal times. A great portion of this monologue, measured either in volume or in priority, is concerned with instructions about how the ignorant-commons should do their living, their communicating, their thinking. The instructions run long on “do this, don’t do that” and run short on hard, helpful information. Passive-voice sentences appear very often in the message stream. And these are things the scheming-elites would never, ever practice themselves. Examples abound.

The ignorant-commons consistently fail to distinguish between statements about facts, versus statements about what facts might mean. Put more simply, they can’t think. Examples include emotionally unhinged sentiments of conclusion that purport to be statements of fact, such as “Health care should be a right and that’s a fact,” or “Education must be free and that’s a fact.” This makes it easy for the scheming-elites to program the ignorant-commons to have certain opinions; they say, “get the facts” about this-or-that. The ignorant-commons then obey, get told what to think, and with this emotion-over-reason juxtaposition in place, proceed to “feel” like they know something. From that feeling, they get a sort of a hit, like a hardcore junkie. It’s their soma.

Whiteness: The Original Sin

24th October 2016

Read it.

According to the modern moral framework as it’s dictated to us by academia’s huddled rodents, the worst possible thing anyone can be is a racist. We are also increasingly lectured that all white people are racist—so racist, they don’t even realize it, even when they’re trying their best not to be racist. Therefore, it’s not a giant leap to assume that under the current moral Reich, the worst possible thing anyone can be is a white person.

Much of the public, including all the gelded and deluded “good whites,” have swallowed such nonsense as fact simply because such propaganda is relentlessly sprinkled through all levels of education these days like a cancer patient being seeded with radiation pellets.

The Intensification and Reorientation of Sunni Jihad Ideology in the Crusader Period

24th October 2016

Read it.

One of the more pernicious and prevalent post-9/11 myths is that one of Islam’s most fundamental concepts, jihad, has been distorted by “violent extremists” who have “hijacked the religion.” In this fairy-tale view, jihad is above all a struggle for self-betterment that al-Qaeda, the Islamic State, Boku Haram, and others have twisted and deformed. Mourad of Smith College and Lindsay of Colorado State University provide an excellent antidote to this ahistorical nonsense by offering a serious primer on the historical codification of jihad and its subsequent application in response to the Crusaders.

More From the Housewives, Please

23rd October 2016

Gavin McInnes isn’t impressed.

Modern feminism insists that women giving birth and sticking around is sexist but putting men’s shitty jobs on a pedestal is somehow feminist. I don’t even know what a strategist is, but I’d rather hear strategies from someone who has literally created a future America than some barren spinster with no stakes in the game. Look at any mainstream media source and you will see women who have put career over family. Sometimes they have one kid. Sometimes they spent $30,000 on in vitro and have two. Even in those rare cases, you are looking at someone who has paid a Third World immigrant to look after their children like some sort of maternal security guard. Why are these people telling us what’s best for the country? They don’t even know what’s best for their own family. When I bring this up with professional women, they tell me a housewife’s life is parochial and boring. What these power moms don’t realize is America is made up of millions of tiny “boring” microcosms who shape the economy.

Losing the Thread

23rd October 2016

Read it.

Whether they were captives in ancient Crete, orphans in the Florentine Ospedale degli Innocenti, widows in South India or country wives in Georgian England, women through the centuries spent their lives spinning, especially after water wheels freed up time previously devoted to grinding grain. Turning fibre into thread was a time-consuming, highly skilled craft, requiring dexterity and care. Even after the spread of the spinning wheel in the Middle Ages, the finest, most consistent yarn, as well as strong warp threads in general, still came from the most ancient of techniques: drop spinning, using a hooked or notched stick with a weight as a flywheel.

More than we realise, we residents of the 21st century simply assume that our clothing will resist wrinkles and stains, that it will stretch as we move, that it will hold its colour and its shape, and feel comfortable against our skin. The incremental innovations that make hoodies breathable or extend the life of upholstery cushions are invisible. They don’t grab public attention the way nylon stockings did. A state-of-the-art raincoat, dress shirt or pair of tights would amaze someone transported from 1939, but nowadays we just expect it to work.

The Myth of the Gun Show Loophole

22nd October 2016

The major complaint, of course, is that anybody, ostensibly, can go into a gun show and buy a gun without undergoing a background check.

That isn’t actually the case, though in fairness it could be true, in a certain context and depending on what state the gun show is taking place and if the right conditions are met. That sounds a little convoluted – and it can certainly get that way. More on that in a minute.

Obamacare! What Can’t It Do?

22nd October 2016

Minnesota’s version of the Affordable Care Act is called MNSure. Like all such implementations of the federal law, it has been a disaster. Last week, Minnesota’s left-wing governor, Mark Dayton, created a firestorm when he accidentally blurted out the truth: “The reality is the Affordable Care Act is no longer affordable to increasing numbers of people.”

Dayton has been furiously backpedaling away from that comment ever since, but local Democrats are so worried about MNSure’s unpopularity that they are calling for a special session prior to the election to try to fix the problems with the statute.

The Crisis Nobody’s Talking About: America’s Entitlement Crunch

22nd October 2016

Read it.

President Obama’s 2016 budget makes this brutal reality clear. Entitlements there already absorb almost 70 percent of all federal spending. Defense spending, the next-largest budget item, takes up about 15 percent of the total, while interest payments on outstanding government debt take up some 6 percent. That leaves only about 10 percent for all the rest of what Washington does, and nothing for walls, free college, new bridges and the like. Indeed, entitlements, which have already expanded from 56 percent of all federal spending in 2000 and from 43 percent twenty years ago, promise to intensify the pressure they place on the budget, as the retirement of the baby boom and the increased obligations under the Affordable Care Act disproportionately enlarge the demands on these programs year after year, without even a requirement that Congress vote on the matter.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money. This is true even with a government that thinks that everybody’s money is at its disposal.

Dozens of Bullets Fly Through Homes in DC Neighborhood Overnight

21st October 2016

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the Stanton Glen Apartments on Naylor Road after an unknown suspect open fired in the Southeast, D.C., neighborhood. A woman who wished not to be identified said at least 15 bullets went through her home while she and her children were sleeping. She says she awoke to the sounds of gunshot and saw smoke, reports NBC Washington.

“They thought they were fireworks,” the woman told NBC4.

No one was injured in the shooting and police are investigating the incident. Bullets went flying into another apartment on the 3400 block of 12th Street at roughly the same time. Officers also found multiple cars riddled with bullet holes on the 300 block of Stanton Road in Fort Stanton.

Why the Future of Work Is at Home

20th October 2016

Read it.

Once upon a time, working from home seemed a romantic and highly exclusive option for a luxury creative class. It was for writers and painters who sauntered out of their bedrooms at 10:30 a.m. to drink French roast coffee and eat locally made croissants and jam while lounging on wrap-around porches in Maine, before repairing to the typewriter or canvas. This has never been the reality of working in the home, of course. Domestic laborers and caregivers have always worked in the home, often without compensation and certainly without the leisurely hours of the phantom creative class sipping coffees over art. But the sharp decline in long-term employment at one company and the rise of telecommuting options means more workers than ever are doing their jobs in the same places they sleep. Even a cursory look at the social, environmental, and economic impacts of working from home indicates that even more people could and should be.

Antiguan Ambassador Calls on Harvard to Pay ‘Slavery Reparations’

20th October 2016

Read it.

Sir Ronald Sanders, the Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda to the United states, has called upon Harvard University to pay reparations to Antiguans.

Roughly two centuries ago, a man named Isaac Royall, Jr. left land in his will for Harvard to endow a professorship of law, physics, or anatomy. Harvard chose to use this endowment to create a professorship of law which eventually became the foundation for Harvard’s law school.

The Harvard Crimson reports that the “The Royalls were a prominent slave-owning family in the small Caribbean country in the early 18th century” and that Royall, Jr.’s wealth “derived from the Massachusetts farms and a sugar plantation in Antigua he had inherited from his father—properties that relied on and profited from slave labor.

Ambassador Sanders sent a letter to Harvard’s university president last week claiming that some Antiguans are descendants of slaves owned by the Royall family.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people.

EPA Expands Power by Calling Plowed Farm Fields ‘Mini Mountain Ranges’

20th October 2016

Read it.

When farmers plow their land, it produces grooves called “furrows,” bordered by small ridges of dirt.

But in pursuit of new regulatory powers, federal agencies refer to the little dirt mounds by another term: “mini mountain ranges.” That seemingly absurd distinction is being used to impose more federal control over private land use decisions made by U.S. farmers.

I am not making this up.

The rule would allow puddles, tire ruts and standing water to be labeled “disturbed wetlands” and regulated under the Clean Water Act. The Senate committee report states the rule would allow EPA to get around legal limits to its authority over ditches, draws, low areas, or other wet areas by simply calling them a “regulated tributary” or “wetland.”

I wish I were.

Clinton’s Revolution Against the Catholic Church

20th October 2016

Read it.

After King Henry VIII broke ties with the Catholic Church because of a dispute over marriage, Catholics were treated very badly. Bishops were locked up. Monasteries were closed. Tens of thousands were executed in the bloody turmoil of the English Reformation.

All of which raises an interesting point: If the church wouldn’t change its doctrine for the king of England, what makes Hillary Clinton think she can change it?

Well, for one thing, Catholics aren’t what they once were. Look at all of the pro-abortion nominal Catholics in the Democrat Party. (Pelosi, Biden, Kaine, I’m lookin’ at YOU….)

WikiLeaks and the Oily Washington Press

20th October 2016

Read it.

Conservative writers at Breitbart, the Daily Caller and elsewhere have seized on the leaked emails to accuse the establishment media of shilling for and colluding with the Clinton campaign. But that’s not how I read the emails. The toadying behaviors are driven by the power relationship between the news media and an administration or campaign. I would bet that many establishment reporters tiptoed around the Romney people as well, and asked them pretty-please for interviews. It’s a certainty that many of them bowed to George W. Bush when he was in the White House. Not saying it’s right. Just saying it is.

The primary reason Washington operators can dictate the terms of engagement with Washington journalists is that the true insiders are few and the journalists are many. In medium-sized towns, the power dynamic is reversed, as the number of journalists is very small and sources are many. This means journalists need not ingratiate themselves in the same way to get a story. Until the Washington press corps is reduced by 90 percent—which won’t happen in our lifetimes—the mortifying dance we see in the Podesta emails will continue.

Browning Our Trousers

20th October 2016

David Cole reviews the ethnography of California.

Regarding field labor, you can’t compare the needs of a place like Canada with California regarding agribusiness. My state could buy out that entire country with our agri-dollars. And I’ll tell you, whites won’t work those fields. My whole life I’ve been surrounded by “struggling” actors and actresses. They’re the only women I date, and they’ve always made up the majority of my white friends. Meaning, I’ve known poor whites here in Cali. Very poor whites. Because most actors out here make zero bucks at acting. So believe me when I say this: When young white Angelenos go broke, they DON’T sign up to pick lettuce. That’s not even on their radar. They either find a rich dude to support them (if they’re female or gay), they go back to living with mommy and daddy, or they go on SSI.

Southern California attracts a very specific type of white. We get the artistic “dreamers” from other states. We don’t get the Tom Joads. Here in L.A., pretty young white people with endearingly unrealistic dreams are an industry. It’s a huge business, not so much for them, but for those who make money off them. The steady influx of pretty white wannabe stars is a massive income-generator for the “high-IQ whites” and “high-IQ Jews” (redundant?) who live and work in “the biz.” Our entertainment industry is a billion-dollar concern, and as long as that’s so, the largest plurality of poor whites who move here will not be the type who do field labor.

On a summer night, nearly three thousand years ago, three hundred men of Thebes, wet and mud soaked, snuck into the town of Plataea with murder on their minds. Their attempt to launch revolution in Plataea was futile: most would die before the night was over. If their aim was political change, they failed, and failed utterly. But if their aim was undying fame, they succeeded. Perhaps they did not know that their deeds would echo through time, but they have. These were the men who began the Peloponnesian War. What they did is still read and written about thousands of years later.
